Adopted Actions

For benefit of our members and the industries of the Free Zone of Dominican Republic in general, the following actions have been adopted by ADOZONA:

• Accomplishment of Surveys on the Situation of Textile Companies
• Reports on the Statistics of the Textile Sector
• Managements of lobby before the Congress of the United States with a view to obtaining the approval of the Project of Textile Parity
• Managements before the Dominican authorities with the purpose of obtaining support for the approval of the Textile Parity and the increase of quotas for the Dominican Republic
• Managements before the North American authorities with a view to obtaining administrative initiatives that improve the granted commercial processing to the Dominican textile sector
• Contribute so that the titled report " The Apparel Industry and Codes of Conduct: A solution to the International Child Labor Problem " made by an specialist designated by the North American Congress, to be favorable to the sector
• Hiring of Robert Johnson III as legal representative of the Dominican Republic's Free Zones to make the defense of the country before the denounce done by the American Federation of work and the Congress of Industrial Organization (AFL-cio) before the subcommittee of the Generalized System of Preferences (SGP), so that we were excluded of the benefit of this preferential scheme
• Elimination of the Consular Invoice
• Elimination of the watchman and of the guard that accompany the merchandise from the door until it's destine
• Work with the authority of the government in the elaboration of strategies for the outliving of the sector as opposed to the Agreement on Subventions and Compensatory Measures of the OMC
• Representation of the sector in the negotiations of Agreements of Free Commerce. At the moment one effective is the negotiation with Central America and CARICOM.
