What is Adozona?

The Dominican Association of Free Zones, Inc. (Asociación Dominicana de Zonas Francas, Inc. - ADOZONA) is a not-for-profit organization made up of the associations grouping the different free zone companies in the country and the private operators of industrial parks throughout the national territory. It was founded on August 8, 1988, with the purpose of representing and defending the interests of the sector, seeking to promote a good climate for its development.

The industralists of Free Zone interested in having an Institution that was in charge to represent and to defend the interests of the sector in search of a climate adapted for their development, were united the 8 of August of 1988 to form the Dominican Asociation of Free Zone Inc. (Asociación Dominicana de Zonas Francas, Inc.), better known by its abbreviation ADOZONA. This organization obtains its incorporation with Decree no. 579-88, December 18th. of 1988.

At the present, ADOZONA is integrated by 15 Associations of Companies disseminated in the public and private parks and 24 private Operators, for a total of 39 members.

ADOZONA is directed by the General Assembly of Members and administered by the Board of Directors, which is composed by 14 chosen members each two (2) years. This organism is attended by an Executive Direction and the Administrative and Legal Units.
