Legal Frame

The operation of Free Zone Industries in the Dominican Republic is governed by a legal framework defined by Law 8-90 (Free Zones). Capital investment by foreign individuals or entities is ruled by the Foreign Investment Law (16-95).

Our country enjoys the privileges and benefits from the agreements subscribed at: Lome IV, Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI) and GSP. We are also benefitiaries of the CBI Textile Enhancement Bill.

The Dominican Association of Free Zones, Inc. (ADOZONA) is a not-for-profit organization made up of the associations grouping the different free zone companies in the country and the private operators of industrial parks throughout the national territory of the Dominican Republic.
